Last month, it was reported that over a dozen former tenants of an upscale apartment complex in Southern California had filed a lawsuit against the owners of the complex for alleged mold exposure. A number of the plaintiffs have claimed a variety of health issues due to the mold in their homes.

There have been numerous lawsuits against property owners and real estate management companies in California over the last several years related to mold and moisture issues. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for mold to begin to grow on most building materials and belongings once water damage takes place, or if there are elevated humidity levels.
